Overview

The Penn State Administrative Professionals Series – Level 2 (PSAPS2) is a highly interactive, instructor-led training program that builds off of the Level 1 curriculum. In this series, participants explore the key concepts of leadership, hone their presentation skills; learn the concepts of change management, and better understand the various aspects of diversity and actions that can be applied to create a culture of belonging. Participants also discover the benefits of mindfulness, expand their personal awareness in sharpening emotional intelligence, and receive tools and resources to prepare for career conversations. Additionally, participants work on a collaborative solutioning project outside of the classroom. PSAPS2 is offered each Fall (typically mid-September thru mid-November).

Details

Participants in PSAPS2 progress through a series of ten (10) live virtual classroom sessions with the same cohort over a 9-week period. Participants should expect to devote approximately 21.5 hours to attending the live sessions, 2 hours to pre- and post-program assignments, and about 5 hours to completing a collaborative solutioning project with their project team that is presented to the class. The total time commitment for the program is about 28.5 hours. Upon successful completion of PSAPS2, participants earn a customized certificate of completion.

Topics include: leadership, change management, public speaking, mindfulness, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), emotional intelligence, self-care, and career development.
